Jersey Garden Outlet mall to mid town Manhattan

Interview on 24/10/2006 2 pm Midtown Manhattan,Need to find a place to stay.Flying in from Toronto to Newark.Thought of staying in Newark for $50/night seemingly achievable on Priceline.com

I found that there is a bus 115 New Jersey Bus from the Jersey Garden mall starting at 10.31 am to Port Authority ,NYC arriving at 11.11 am.

Is this bus reliable and safe at that time,would traffic at this time be a problem, or should I take the train from Newark International Airport(airport hotel provides free shuttle to mall and airport.

Booked return flight from LGA at 8.30 pm hopefully everything will be settled then and can catch a taxi back to LaGuardia by 6 pm!

Because of potential traffic delays in the city, Holland Tunnel, NJ Turnpike, I would suggest you take a train (NJ Transit or Path train) from Newark Penn Station into NYC Penn Station. Depending on the hotel in the Newark Airport area - you should be able to get a free shuttle from the hotel to the Airport. From the airport you can catch a NJ Transit train to Newark Penn Station and then find multiple trains (depending on time of day) to take you into NYC.

Relying on taxi/bus from Manhattan to Newark to catch a flight requires lucky timing and really advance departure. One accident and you will miss your flight.
