I need to find a good place to eat this Sat. night for a group of 11 girls. We are looking for a fun place (we want to drink!) that is pretty casual. We are looking for food like sandwiches and burgers -maybe some dinner options would be good; a bar setting would be ideal. We also need a place that is within walking distance to Showboat. I have been doing some research and I was thinking about Celebrity Corner? Is that place any good?
A lot of people also recommended the Irish Pub, which looks nice, but their online menu is very basic, not much there. I%26#39;d prefer a local joint, but i guess there is always the option of the Hardrock, Rainforest Cafe or Planet Hollywood (if it%26#39;s still open - which i can%26#39;t figure out). Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks!
Good Eats??
What about the House Of Blues in the Showboat?
Good Eats??
Since the Irish Pub is not an option, I have a suggestion. This doesn%26#39;t meet your %26#39;walking distance%26#39; criteria as it is a mile from the Showboat [but Rainforest Cafe isn%26#39;t a comfortable walking distance - 14 blocks, which is over a mile]. You would have to take taxis there and back. Also this place will only be able to meet the 11ppl need if the weather cooperates as the seating will be outdoors, but the weather looks gorgeous Saturday.

Reasonable prices, sandwiches %26amp; burgers %26amp; full dinners with a great bar [try the %26#39;mason jar%26#39; cocktails]. Gee, I am salivating at their crab dishes as I am typing this. Mmmm, crab soup, crabcake, jumbo lump crab... [tee-hee]
hendri23 - I heard through this board that Maynard%26#39;s has relocated from Margate to that part of AC, I%26#39;m pretty sure it is in walking distance to the Showboat. I haven%26#39;t been to their new location, but the old place was a sports-themed bar, very casual, inexpensive and a fun place to drink. It sounds like just what you are looking for. Another option, if it%26#39;s not too far to walk, is the AC Bar %26amp; Grill just up the block from Resorts. Their menu ranges from really casual to surf %26amp; turf. I recommend sticking with the seafood on their menu. You can check it out at their website: www.acbarandgrill.com. I don%26#39;t know if Maynard%26#39;s has a website.
Have fun!

I think you are confusing Maloney%26#39;s with Maynard%26#39;s !
I have those kind of days too !
I think Maloney%26#39;s is S. Tennasee Ave. between Atlantic and Pacific .A good choice but might get crowded if there is something special in TV sports going on .
Also a good choice in the area is AC Bar and Grill on Pacific about 4 or 5 blocks from the Showboat . ( But no sandwiches/burgers at dinnertime ) .
I think the Cheeseburger platters at HOB ,right in Showboat ,are a great value at $10.00 .
Planet Hollywood is closed . Hardrock is open . Rainforest food is not all that good . Personal experience and the recent Consumer Report Ratings . Also lots of Kids !
Celebrity corner is just OK .
Wherever you go MAKE reservations !
Los Amigos is a fun spot ( Tex/Mex) but not within walking distance .
You are right allure - I did mean Maloney%26#39;s! No wonder I couldn%26#39;t find a website. I need a vacation.
Thanks for reminders, I forgot about AC Bar %26amp; Grill %26amp; Los Amigos. I love those places, but haven%26#39;t been to Maloney%26#39;s

Be aware the TripAdvisor dining link above gives a lot of outdated, misleading, and very poor information. (such as Planet Hollywood that%26#39;s been closed).
As noted above the Rainforest is an overpriced chain for pre-teens whose parents are paying to have their kids entertained. I think it closes very early.
The AC Bar %26amp; grill is casual, and can be fun. It is walkable from Showboat. Check them at:

The Irish Pub is the other nearest non-casino ';fun'; place, if you want to drink, in a casual place, for about the best prices in town. Their web site has a limited menu, and it doesn%26#39;t show any of their daily specials that locals go for. Some of their sandwiches are very good, and the steerburger is also probably the best buy in town.
If you%26#39;re considering the Hardrock, an overpriced tourist chain, you might want to check the Bombay Cafe. Next door to Showboat, It%26#39;s about 100 feet from the Hardrock in the Tag. No good bar setting, but you can eat and drink there 24 hours a day. Food%26#39;s not bad %26amp; there%26#39;s even a prime rib buffet. The EGO bar and lounge is about 50 feet in front. Check them at:

Thank you all for your suggestions - very helpful; now that i have a couple good places to choose from i don%26#39;t think i can go wrong. One more question - if we eat at 5:00 is it necessary to make a reservation???
