How far is Long Branch from the ';fun part '; of the boardwalk, where all the rides and restaurants are? We are thinking of staying at Ocean Place Resort. Any suggestions? We are a family with 2 teenagers and want to stay on the beach. Please help!!!!

Although this is an answer to an old post, hopefully it will be of value to someone.

If you stay at Ocean Place, you will be in the center of the newest action. Ocean Place is just next door to ';Pier Village';, the new hot spot. There are several good restaurants including 3 that have waterfront views, a sushi/steakhouse (SAWA), a casual Greek eatery, a casual italian restaurant with great sandwiches, a breakfast place, a coffee shop, and several more upscale retail establishments. You can walk the boardwalk from here. The beach is very wide and is generally quite clean.

You may also want to check out the ';West End'; section of Long Branch, a more established area. A cool bar/restaurant is MIX, which has a sister restaurant upstairs called Xebastions which has great food. Some antique and retail shops here also and free summer jazz/blues concerts in the little park during the summer.

there are NO rides in Long Branch. They haven%26#39;t had rides for about 30 years. closest rides are in PT Pleasant on the boardwalk.

the Long branch boardwalk only has a few restaurants and a few stores. stores only open during day.

to be honest, probably a boring place for kids
