NJ Trip with Kids

Just starting to look into a possible trip to NJ.

What kinds of activities are available for families in Atlantic City?

Would it be worth it to stop in both Atlantic City and Ocean City, since they%26#39;re so close?

We%26#39;re looking for a place with a good beach and plenty of stuff to do.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

There is a lot of information you can find in recent posts here. Rather than everybody giving you a rehash, it would be better for you to review some of the recent topics very similar to yours. Then you could come back with specific questions.

A good start would be perfecttrip%26#39;s post about ';Going to AC/OC with kids'; from a few days ago that you can find on the next page of this forum. At:

also check out this site for discount coupons, I often use them and some are 2 for 1 admission

If the kids are approaching grade school age, try Storybook Land

Thanks for the information. Sorry; I should have done more research beforehand.

Nothing to be sorry about. Just thought where we steered you would be of the most help. That%26#39;s what TripAdvisor is all about. Ask any more questions you might have.

Have a good trip and return the favor by posting back with your comments. I%26#39;m sure many readers here will find it useful.

no problem, as there is always new things to add [when I have the time]: This is the last year for the amusements on the Steel Pier [Donald Trump is not renewing their lease], so you may want to visit there - I personally love the Bungee Ride.

The Central Pier has the biggest Go-Kart track in South Jersey [if the kids are tall enough]. They also have arcades with skeeball %26amp; claw machines. And my favorite - The 99cent Store.

Is there anywhere to get discount coupons for Storybookland?

try visiting one of the AC visitor centers

atlanticcitynj.com/DirectoryCliDetails.asp…

The 2 I know of are the visitor Welcome Center located on the Atlantic City Expressway or at the Boardwalk Information Center at the corner of Mississippi Avenue, located in Boardwalk Hall. This is just a guess, I hope they have them.

Also, now that I see your children are young%26#39;uns, you should also check out The Cape May Zoo [FREE, but request donations]

co.cape-may.nj.us/Cit-e-Access/webpage.cfm…

it%26#39;s less than an hour drive. Bring pocket change as there are vending machines that dispense purina animal chow in the zoo - also bring wetwipes of scope out a bathroom, the chow leaves a strong smell on your hands

When we were young, we used to stay in Stone Harbor. Close to the Cape May zoo, they have a wetland institute, of course all the beach activities and a nice shopping and movie theater down town. It is very easy to take an evening trip to the Wildwood boardwalk, a day trip explore Cape May and even venture up to Atlantic City if you want to check out AC. You will find different shore towns have their own advantages (and boosters to support them) but if you choose a nice town, you have still visit some of the others for day trips. Have fun!
