Mini Trip Report: Overnight at Caesar's

Hi All: Had a 1 night, 2 day stay in AC last week.

Room: Thanks to this forum, I knew to stay away from the Temple Towers. I was given a room in the Centurian Tower with an ocean view. The room was pretty, comfortable, clean, and large. I got the impression on check in that the only people getting ';stuck'; in Temple were those requesting smoking rooms that could not be accomodated elsewhere. Go during the week and don%26#39;t smoke and you should be ok.

Hotel/Casino: Staff was pleasant %26amp; helpful. Too many kids running around for my taste. Also, some of the clientel were those I have never seen wandering the casinos before...homeless types, body odor, the whole thing. I was asked for money. All in all, the casino atmosphere in AC in general has declined in my opinion. Had a difficult time getting drink service in CP. For that reason, and gambling, I had more fun at Wild Wild West. I missed a favorite restaurant that used to be at WWW--forget the name but it had good BBQ and cole slaw! The only real restaurant choice there is the buffet which I didn%26#39;t want. I ended up eating at some burger joint on the casino floor. The service was slow and awful, the eating area dirty, and it took forever to get through the line. The food was cold and probably wasn%26#39;t good even when it was hot!

Harrah%26#39;s influence: The Total Rewards center lines were terrible. I had 3 different reward cards with different numbers but found they were linked. Other people seemed to be having a problem and I don%26#39;t think they have gotten it all together yet. As in LV where Harrah%26#39;s seems to be buying up all of the competetion, I find that when Harrah%26#39;s takes over the comps go down, the prices go up, and the service is cut back. Too bad.

Despite what sounds like a negative report, I did have a great time and although I didn%26#39;t come home a winner, I wasn%26#39;t down too much! I like these little get aways on my own, away from the family and work and will be back.

It%26#39;s the Gold Rush Grill that you are missing. Supposedly it will be back soon.

Glad you enjoyed yourself and had a nice room!

Thanks Jilleebean its always good to get to the City.Its a shame that Harrahs is putting a damper on alot of peoples visit to A/C.We have been avoiding them alot when we go and doing the non-Harrarh properties.

We always enjoyed the SW influenced food at that place which has now become the cashier area for the Virginia City Buffet. It will be good if that menu comes back someplace else.

Yup another Harrahs horror story in AC. I am glad that the Black Cloud of Harrahs DID NOT ruin your trip and despite this you still had a great time in AC.

CHEERS !!!!!!!!!

Jilleebean... The short overnighters are like a power nap; not long but very necessary and worth it! Time by yourself without having to worry about responsibilities for a day is great, isn%26#39;t it?

While homeless and smelly people certainly don%26#39;t enhance a casinogoing experience, it certainly is not relegated just to AC. Downtown Las Vegas and Detroit both have this element, too.

Glad you enjoyed the City. Next time, go for longer if you can and really ';get away'; from it all! %26lt;grin%26gt;
