Ready for A/C.

Mrs. and I back from Vegas and had a great time.We booked through a local travel agent again,which is nice,for they take care of everything(hotel,flight,airport pick-up,luggage,etc.)Flight was nice out and back(S/W Air),and on time.Stayed at T/I which was our first stay there and it was very nice.Room,view housekeeping,bathrooms,elevators,all great.Like A/C me and the Mrs hit all the Casinos on the Strip.Did pretty good with our money(came home with with a few hundred after five days.)Had our best luck at the Wynn and T/I.We were down until a last good day and nite at these two.Love the Wynn(Its the class of Vegas,they don%26#39;t care if your playing the penny or the dollar slots,your treated the same)Food was super, we do mostly lunch(alot cheaper).Ate at The Palm.Commanders Palace(martini%26#39;s .25),Cheesecake Factory(can%26#39;t eat all they give you)Food Court@Venitian(great Lasagne).

Ready for A/C.

Also the .99 cent shrimp cocktail at Golden Gate is still great. Fremont Street seems not as good as last trips.Use to love O%26#39;Sheas,but the took most of Slots out for Poker tables,so we banned them from our list.For the first time since coming back from all other Vegas trips,we actually don%26#39;t look forward to going back.Don%26#39;t know why,but A/C seems more appealing at the moment.Almost forgot a lady with us did win $290,000 at T/I on a Quarter Progressive.Took her 7 1/2 hours to get her money.Well we are off to A/C Fri. nite,Hope all our Forum persons are Fine!

Ready for A/C.

Thanks for your great trip report.I went to Las Vegas three months ago,I stayed at Flamingo,Harrahs and Paris.Their machines were really suck.I think slots at Las Vegas Harrahs properties even worse than those in AC Harrahs.

Glad you had a good time in Vegas too Money! Jealous you got to eat at Commanders Palace, that is just about the only thing on my ';to do'; list that I didn%26#39;t get to do.

Glad you had a good flight home. That was the only bad part of my trip. Was scheduled on the 11:45pm American Airlines flight, then they tell me that my flight is delayed until 12:35pm the following day. I tell them that a 12 hour delay is not acceptable and after some arguement they put me on a Northwest flight. But I still don%26#39;t have my bags. :-(

Hey Money Glad you made it back in one piece from '; SIN CITY '; LOL. It%26#39;s good that you %26amp; the Misses had a fun time and also won a few $$$ but i can see that your Heart Is Still In Good Ole AC.

It%26#39;s nice to see someone not comparing the 2 places or bashing AC while comparing it to Vegas. I have never been to Vegas but i am planning to go with Bud_ Dry hopefully next year sometime.

I will be going to AC in Nov, originally Oct but i have to bump it for a few weeks later. I%26#39;ll post the dates as the time gets closer and maybe we can meet up and say HI.

No doubt your probably off to AC very soon like a true dedicated AC lover.

CHEERS !!!!!!!!!!!!

moneywho... Welcome home! Glad you both are happy, healthy, and RICHER now.... It sounds like you took in the whole town, and ';it%26#39;s all good';, as they say.

Osheas can put in more poker tables if they wish, but I don%26#39;t think Binion%26#39;s has any reason to worry! Osheas putting in poker tables is a classic case of a casino overreaching its market; their market is slots, they should stick to what works. It would be like the Sands in AC claiming to be the high roller joint in town.... *not*!

Anyway, I was just curious as to why you said that you and the Mrs. aren%26#39;t looking forward to going back? The excess walking, or too much to do? Or could it just be our beloved AC has come calling? lol

Really hope I (and others on here, too) can meet up with you and the Mrs. someday. Take care.

Actually I am interested in why you aren%26#39;t looking forward to a return trip as well. I just got back Saturday and am already planning December%26#39;s Vegas trip!! LOL

I won%26#39;t be hitting AC until Nov 16th or 17th. ;-) (Not sure if we%26#39;re staying one or two nights yet.)

Bud Dry.Its hard to put your finger on why the excitement of going back to Vegas is gone.I was looking back and i think that was our 12th trip and i got sick the last three out of four(who knows from what or whom).Also i%26#39;m not much for flying,never have been.Takes alot of thought before i get on that plane(i%26#39;m chicken) even after all those trips.Vegas is just not what it was.They seem to be catering to a different market .The t.v. has six channels just for the Japanese/Chinese.But maybe i%26#39;m just getting to old for that flying stuff.Give me my good old A/C,which is really getting better.

moneywho... I can understand not being crazy about the flying, but I think your allusion to something else makes just as much sense: because Vegas is such a ';wow'; kind of place, once a person has seen it 3,6, 12 times, it doesn%26#39;t mean as much. To me, AC feels a little like a person%26#39;s favorite sweater; it just feels comfy and ';familiar';..

I don%26#39;t know if that makes any sense, moneywho; hopefully you know what I%26#39;m trying to say! lol

BTW: I agree that the crowd is different; the Strip as a whole has gone upmarket. I wish I could%26#39;ve seen Vegas just before Mirage and it%26#39;s ';cousin'; casino resorts were built; always wanted to see the city like it was portrayed on the TV show ';Vega$'; with Robert Ulrich.

ambrva... December is only 2 and a half months away! Staying at the ElCo and Flamingo again, are you? %26lt;grin%26gt;

Hi Moneywho

At least the lady who won $290,000 actually. got paid even if she did have to wait so many hours. Not like the poor sucker in Florida at the Indian casino who didn%26#39;t collect his big jackpot because of a ';machine malfunction';

I%26#39;ve been to Vegas 42 times and always compared AC unfavorably to it. However I%26#39;ve been to AC twice in the past 2 months and had a great time. The only thing I missed was the choice of entertainment during the week-Monday to Thursday. We%26#39;re too old for bars and loud music! I think I am trying to wean myself off Vegas because the air fares are so expensive from Canada with the number of taxes added on and the hassle at security. I was stopped as I was leaving Vegas and told that they suspected I was carrying a knife in my carry-on. The ';knife'; was actually a battery operated tooth brush. My husband was searched head to toe because he had forgotten to cash in a chip from one of the casinos and it has a metal center covered up and it kept setting off the alarm. Just to punish him some more they took every scrap of paper out of his wallet and shook them out , waved his money around and bent his plastic coated Social Insurance card and health card in two and removed the arch supports from his shoes.

At least we can drive to AC and not have such problems crossing the border. We also get to see some gorgeous scenery down through NY state and the Poconos. So I think AC will see a lot more of us and Vegas a lot less.

The new Vegas casinos are fabulous but the slot payouts aren%26#39;t what they used to be because we have to pay to maintain such fine premises.

Glad you had fun though.

Welcome back, Money and Mrs. Money - - nice trip report! I%26#39;ve only been to Vegas once, in 2000. Stayed at the Luxor for a whole week and made a point of doing the strip, Fremont Street, etc. I had a great time but I found the gaming to be very tight wherever I went. Would I go back? Sure - but only to show my husband the place. I have so many free rooms in Vegas I could stay for a week on the house, then get some more freebie nights in Tahoe and Reno, and even have $300 credit toward my airfare. But I%26#39;m not really interested. My primary interest is the gaming. Since I live so close to NYC and Philly, I have skads of fine dining and entertainment choices close by. I don%26#39;t really count on AC to meet those needs. The gaming has to be top drawer and I find that AC has a nice selection of games at all price ranges, so why go through the hassle of air travel.

Glad you%26#39;re back - see you at the slots soon!
