Hotel / Town Search

My boyfriend and I will be driving home to MD from NYC and we want to stay over one night somewhere on the way. We%26#39;re thinking about half way between the two points, so the areas surrounding Philadelphia basically. He%26#39;s not from the States and I would like to show him a bit more of the country than the usual turnpike scenery one gets on that NYC-MD route. We%26#39;d like to find a nice little hotel in a nice smaller town (again, in the Philadelphia - NJ area) and we%26#39;re on a budget (no more than $70/night would be fanstastic). I came across Bridgeton, NJ which looks like a very nice little town. Anyone familiar with it (easy to get there and back from/to the turnpike? We%26#39;ll only be staying the one night, but places to eat in town, etc?) Or, does anyone have any other town/hotel suggestions in this area? Any help would be fantastic!! : )

(I%26#39;m going to put this on the NY and PA forums too, so please excuse the repitition)

Why not stay in Philadelphia (or its suburbs) and give him a tour of the historic Old City section of Philadelphia?

Try looking into Lambertville, NJ or New Hope, PA. They%26#39;re small, country-esque towns with cute shops and beautiful scenery. Even my husband liked it!

ditto the suggestion for Philly.
