Ultimate romantic hotel on boardwalk

Hi. I%26#39;m looking for a nice hotel room to celebrate my anniversary with my husband. I don%26#39;t want to pay an arm and a leg (that money is reserved to dump into the slot machines! :) but I would like something romantic. I%26#39;m not opposed to staying slightly off the boarwalk but would like to be in walking distance to the casinos. I currently have reservations at Bally%26#39;s but have read some pretty negative reviews... Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I personally love the rooms at the Showboat. They are very spacious and always clean. Also that is where my husband proposed to me 2 years ago, so it holds a special touch for me. We have been there 3 times since then with this past July being the most recent. The bathrooms are very big and usually have pretty big tubs for bubble baths!! And we have never had a problem with noise. Once your in your room, nothing can be heard. I have heard that the Borgata is VERY nice and we would love to stay there but its a little too pricey for us. Like you said we could put that extra money into the slots. Im sure you will have a great trip no matter where you stay. Have fun!!

If you are not a gambler %26amp; have no free room offers from anywhere,I agree that Showboat is a nice place--request the Orleans Tower that is the newer tower. I am not sure what you will get at Ballys if you are not a gambler I don%26#39;t normally stay there maybe Terminator, or Ambrva or Allure45 could answer that question. I would also try the Tropicana--they have several room packages available so perhaps you could get a discount there. They are at the opposite end of the strip from Showboat but they have so many dining %26amp; entertainment options attached--if I was going to stay on the Boardwalk I%26#39;d stay there based on their entertainment options, or Showboat in the Orleans Tower based on the room.

Good luck to you!!!

If you DO go to Showboat, be sure to ask for a newly renovated room in the BOURBON Tower, floors 9 to 15, even numbered room. This will give you 1) an unobstructed ocean view; 2) flat panel huge TV; and 3) keep you away from the construction noise. If you want a lovely dinner at the Showboat, try Rib %26amp; Chop. Or you can order room service with a bottle of bubbly (better yet, bring your OWN bubbly and save money) - there is a fridge in each room. Very comfy bed, beautiful marble bath and lovely decor. Enjoy! And a very Happy Anniversary to you!

Aquarius%26#39; suggestion about the Orleans Tower is a good one if no renovated rooms are available in the Bourbon Tower. The rooms in Bourbon that have not yet been remodelled are shabby and pitiful. Either way, ask for an EVEN numbered room for a better view.

Hi all,

Are any of the renovated rooms in the Bourbon Tower smoking rooms? If not, that%26#39;s okay also. Thanks!

The Orleans Tower is completely non-smoking so you would have to ask for Bourbon to get a smoking room and, yes, there are some available, including the newly renovated rooms. I know the 7th floor of Bourbon has smoking rooms. Under the new law a hotel can have no more than 20% of its rooms as smoking rooms, so it may be hard to come by depending on when you go. You can put in a request for one but if they%26#39;re all gone by the time you check in, that%26#39;s that.
