Just got back from Newport RI where scooters were everywhere. Are there any places near the Boardwalk to rent a scooter in AC? Am thinking of buying one and thought it might be nice to combine a quick AC trip with research (whether I can drive one or not is the question - I%26#39;m a little klutzy).
BTW, just got my first ever Friday night room comp offer - guess since I%26#39;ve been gone since July they miss me :)

Scooter Rental
Call Seniors on the Go. They will delivery your scooter to the hotel anytime after 9am and will pick it up the following day at 1pm. I think it was $40 to rent one for the day.
You will probably be able to drive it, clutzy or not. They%26#39;re pretty easy.

I%26#39;m thinking Seniors on the Go would have the Little Rascal type of scooter. Perhaps CATE58 wants a motorcycle type of scooter?
hmmmmmm..........
ooh LOL - maybe you are right!!
Not sure I would ride a motorcycle type scooter in AC...sometimes with the Jitneys and drivers looking at things other than the road, and people making left and right turns at will, it can be a challenge to drive a car!
Namret is correct; I am looking at Vespa type scooters (or the cheaper equivalent). That%26#39;s the type that was all over Newport.
Thanks all for replying. Guess I%26#39;ll have to do my own research.

I do not think they have scooter rentals in AC. If you are interested, there are bike rentals along the boardwalk. Biking is allowed 6 - 10am.
B%26amp; K Bike Rentals (available in front of the Resorts, Caesars’ and Hilton Hotels) 609-344-8008 From 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. you can pedal the length of the Boardwalk
IMHO, I would suggest against a scooter rental in AC as the traffic is o/` NASTY o/`
Agressive lost tourists switching lanes, agressive Jitney drivers seeking their next fare, pedestrians ignoring [or unaware of how they work] traffic signals and jaywalking, and all this with really narrow lanes.
Good thing namret replied - I never even thought REAL scooter! I guess the Rascal scooters are just immediately what comes to mind when I think of AC cause you see a lot of them there.
Tho (had you not figured it out by the name Seniors on the Go) it would have been pretty funny if you were expecting a Vespa and they brought you a Rascal!!
We did rent a scooter (not sure it was a Vespa, but that type of scooter as opposed to the rascal variety) in South Beach a couple years ago and that was pretty easy to drive.
I guess Newport is a bit less congested, although there are some crazy drivers there. I%26#39;ll wait for my next trip there to try a scooter - unless I get to South Beach - Ambrva1, you do get around!
