I%26#39;ve been comped a free room at Harrah%26#39;s next weekend and was wondering if there%26#39;s a section I should ask for? This is my first time getting a free room and I%26#39;m not even sure I%26#39;ll get anything better than a view of the garbage dumpster.
Room at Harrah's
I know a lot of folks may think I%26#39;m nuts, but a free room is a free room! Over the years, we%26#39;ve had some rooms that I%26#39;d be upset about if we were paying $300 a night (no view, WAY down the hall, near the elevator, etc) but I figure for nothing, how much of a pig do I want to be?? I know, some folks will say that we did pay for the rooms with the money we gambled, but I%26#39;ve always looked at it as getting something on top of what they really have to give us and never been ready to complain about every imagined slight by the hotel.
Having said that, Harrahs is adding a huge new Tower which is right next to the Bayview Tower. We were there about a month ago on a Friday night and had a room in the Bayview Tower facing the construction (a Fri night comp). They started construction on Sat morning @ 9AM (pile driving). The farther away you can get from the Bayview Tower the better you%26#39;d be in terms of construction noise. The Harbor or Marina Towers would be a good bet, but as a comp they may put you where they want to.

I completely agree with you about a free room - it%26#39;s free, so why complain? I suppose I simply don%26#39;t want to be in a real crummy section. It would be nice to get a room with a view, but I haven%26#39;t been able to get a room with a nice view when I was paying so I doubt I%26#39;ll get one when I%26#39;m not paying.
You%26#39;ll most like get a good view and relative quiet if you ask for a room with a view on a high floor in the Bayview Tower . The quietist and nicest IMHO rooms are the Atrium But not all have a view and you%26#39;ll have to arrive early to get one .
