Hi Everyone: Spouse and I stopped by AC on our way to Cape May late Friday afternoon to get a bite to eat. We ate at Animations at Bally%26#39;s for the first time. I had a ';Diamond member special'; which was a filet mignon with crab meat and asparagus (really filet Oscar, same kind of recipe) and it was just delicious. Spouse opted for a waffle (go figure) which he enjoyed. Although the place was not crowded at that hour (4:30), the service was very inattentive. Not bad, just lazy. We kept having to flag down our waiter for things like coffee refills, etc. So, overall, I would give the food an A and the service a C. We walked through Wild West Casino on our way out to see the newly installed giant Wheel of Fortune machine. There was quite a crowd of onlookers waiting to play. It has double seats and is a pretty big thingamajig. Saturday afternoon we stopped by again , primarily to pick up the free windbreaker at Bally%26#39;s for Dad. Although the line for the windbreaker was long, it moved very quickly and I was impressed by the thought that obviously went into handling a crowd of this size. Then caught a bite at Pickles - again, service was somewhat inattentive but he got the orders right and the food was good as always. Played for a bit in the Wild West Poker room and I was surprised that the noise level from the new Wheel of Fortune was pretty bad. Caught a straight flush on the 50 cent poker and cashed out and ran with my $250 profit. Spouse had no luck at all so we moved over to the Showboat at around 9 pm. I was dismayed to find that, once again, the casino is under construction - will they EVER finish this place? - and a good portion of the casino floor slot area was walled off. Even so, for a Saturday night the place was kind of dead. Upstairs, the HOB poker room was doing a brisk business. Didn%26#39;t appear to me that there were any shows going on at HOB, except for a truly obnoxiously loud DJ in the foyer area right across from the HOB restaurant. The bass was so loud you could hear it in the main casino. It was odd to see that HOB restaurant was completely devoid of customers at 11 pm - even the bar was dead - but still this DJ went on. Guess I don%26#39;t understand the marketing appeal of driving away customers. Stopped for some dessert at the Mansion around 1 AM. Spouse enjoyed the warm apple pie ala mode and I ordered the chocolate cake, which didn%26#39;t float my boat . The room was treated to a chorus of ';Happy Birthday'; by the wait staff - most of whom appeared to be Indian or Asian and it sounded just like that scene in the ';Christmas Story'; movie when they are at the Chinese restaurant. Very funny and everyone applauded their efforts.
Anyway, the gaming was crappy (no pun intended) at the Boat and I gave them the money I won at Bally%26#39;s and then some. Oh well, that%26#39;s why they call it gambling.
Have a great week!

ACMama and moneywho.... As long as you two regulars keep the seats and feelings warm for us out-of-towners, that%26#39;s all that matters! %26lt;grin%26gt; We all know we can rely on you two! lol
It%26#39;s only been 5 weeks, and I feel like I haven%26#39;t been to the City in *years*! %26lt;groan%26gt; But that should change, hopefully....
Hey....we were there Friday and again Sunday and didn%26#39;t see any of you!!!
We tried the new Diamond Club at Caesars Friday....very nice bu crowded...and when we left there was a long line of folks waiting out in the casino to get in! Loved the cookies...took one for the road!
Sunday we got the Ballys windbreaker (well, my Diamond wife got it) little or no line so we were in and out (once we found where to go). We had a drink and some food at the Bally%26#39;s Diamond Club and again liked th food but the service was still not great. There were a lot of guys standing around and we could not figure what their purpose was beyond talking to each other! There was a waitress working our area, and a guy clearing tables, but these guys just seemed to be standing around.
Perhaps that%26#39;s a Bally%26#39;s special way of handling customers, but boy it doesn%26#39;t work too well for us! The sad thing is so many folks in Bally%26#39;s are great..the door man at the casino valet, the staff on the casino floor...why can%26#39;t the food service people get their acts together?

PS - We left them a sizable donation too this weekend! Oh well, Happy Anniversary to us!
I can sympthaize with BudDry--I haven%26#39;t been there since the Ernesto tropical storm remains....which was only Labor Day weekend.....but I am chomping at the bit to go again %26amp; I do not have a reservation till 10/20-21. I hate Mohegan %26amp; Foxwoods. I do%26#39;nt even go to Foxwoods actually..........don%26#39;t need to drive farther to get scalped.
Although I did go to Mohegan this weekend %26amp; I won $1k. About time.....
Hi Aquarius - I%26#39;ll be getting ';scalped'; on October 13th at the Mohegan Sun. Going there for an annual dinner event for my son%26#39;s school. Every time I swear I%26#39;m going to go right back to my hotel after the dinner is over, and everytime I wind up playing ';just a little bit'; and get hosed. Still, what a beautiful place. Great food choices, wonderful decor and it even smells good unlike most casinos.

I was at Ballys Fri nite and Saturday, too, but never ventured over to the WWW. Thought Ballys was very empty most of the time I didn%26#39;t know the WOF super spin was installed there yet. Wish I had known, I would have loved to try it.
