New Year's Eve

Hi, does anyone know if there are any shows/concerts setup for New Year%26#39;s Eve. Also, has anyone ever spent NewYear%26#39;s Eve in AC and what was your experience? Any comments on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

New Year's Eve

Rule One concerning New Yera%26#39;s Eve in AC is that this is the Big Night Out for the high rollers. Virtually all of the hotel rooms are comped out. There are private parties, etc, also comped out. Dinner reservations at the casino restaurants are hard to come by - again, because of all the comping. I can%26#39;t address the shows/concerts but I%26#39;m sure another poster will.

Last New Year%26#39;s Eve at Showboat (and I%26#39;m sure just about everywhere else) lots and lots of folks dressed up in party clothes. The casino itself was really no more or less crowded than on a Saturday night. Dinner at Rib and Chop was reserved for invited guests, and there was a private party as well. Dinner was good but not nearly as good as usual because of the sheer number of people to serve. I was a bit disappointed that they didn%26#39;t have any kind of hats or noisemakers or observation of the ';countdown'; in the casino. If you weren%26#39;t at a party or looking at one of the plasma TV%26#39;s, you wouldn%26#39;t know it was even happening.

In short, lots of people dressed up and in a festive mood, hard to come by rooms/dinner reservations, no real ';public'; celebration or extra goodies except for invitees. I had a good enough time but will probably not do it again this year.

New Year's Eve

Bahama... All of the casinos have shows going on for NYE; check whoot.com for complete listing.

I%26#39;ve not spent NYE in AC, but it is pretty well known that all the casinos are packed, with very high table minimums and few open seats at the machines. The free drinks on such a great night are wonderful, but don%26#39;t drink and drive that night; too many cops and other people to worry about.

In short, the town is a madhouse on that night!

Oh.... it is as expensive as hell to stay in AC for that night!

Should you decide to go, Bahama, enjoy yourself! %26lt;grin%26gt;

I can only imagine the wait for a drink. OUCH

We go every year . Have gone to Sands (years ago ) The Marina , and Bally%26#39;s

As stated , they have the big parties for those whom are regular patrons . They are a blast . All do get dressed up . Live bands etc .

The restaurants will have limited menu%26#39;s . There will be shows . It is really a great time !

All ages %26amp; walks of life having a blast , enjoying themselves !

We stayed at the Hilton last year; got room, dinner and show comped (and I am NOT a high roller!). We saw Kool %26amp; The Gang and were broadcast live on CNN. The next day we had a nice champagne brunch. It was a really lot of fun! I wouldn%26#39;t want to be out on the casino floor at midnight, I don%26#39;t even know if they have a countdown but I can%26#39;t imagine how that would go. The place was packed but we still managed to get around.

Cheers,
