Ok guys
Need some input . I have been a faithful Bally%26#39;s player for many years . I love my host . She always does the right thing by me . I enjoy their restaurants as well as the perks such as show tickets etc .
Lately it has started to get really crowded here . I am ok with crowds , but , sometimes being able to navigate easily through the casino becomes a hassle .
For those of you have have been to Bally%26#39;s %26amp; now visit the Borgata , what differences do you notice ?
What would be the comparison in comps to a seven star member ?
P.S. I am a VP nut . Are there a lot of VP machines there .
The last time i visited The Borgata was the year they opened , and I did not get a warm %26amp; fuzzy feeling .
BorgataI%26#39;m not an expert, but I would say the Borg is crowded b/c it%26#39;s ';the place to be';. That said, it%26#39;s laid out really well so you%26#39;re not packed in like sardines.
They have a lot of VP. The B Bar is where the 9/6 machines are.
And if you like the Bally%26#39;s food, I think you%26#39;ll LOVE the Borg%26#39;s options.
BorgataHi Gramms - I have also been considering making a change from the Showboat to ';somewhere else.'; My reasons are that the Showboat has become unpleasant to play in due to extremely loud music and drunk people. I am also a VP player like yourself, and I find it hard to concentrate on the game with all this chaos. I%26#39;ve been trying Bally%26#39;s for the past couple of months and can%26#39;t say I like the VP environment there, either - except in Wild West, but I never get lucky there. Ditto Harrah%26#39;s and Caesar%26#39;s.
I hope you%26#39;ll let me know what you think of the Borgata if you decide to switch. I%26#39;ve played there several times and while the atmosphere and music are great (not too loud), I haven%26#39;t found the huge selection of VP machines I have at other places. Maybe I haven%26#39;t looked in the right places.
I am also interested in knowing what the comp situation will be like ';somewhere else'; for a 7 stars player. It%26#39;s a lot of business to take elsewhere and I think I have been reluctant to move because of the 7 stars comps.
ACMama
Have any of you tried the Trop ( wasn%26#39;t the Trop your Host Casino ACMAMA at one point ? ) I love it there and the comps are really good including Cashback and Comp dollars. The private lounge Diamond Jims is top notch.
CHEERS !!!!!!!!
Gramms/ACmama.Think you will like the change from Ballys to Borgata.A very well laid out Casino.Have seen mucho VP machines and they are Always up to date with the newest machines.Being 7 Stars, believe you will get great Comps. We don%26#39;t play there for a whole day,but stop in each trip for a few hours and we like their Comps.Great Atmostsphere at Borgata,didn%26#39;t like the place at first, but Love it now.Drink service is fine(even the little gambler can get bottled beer).Always have the latest in Slots. It gets a little crowed at times with the younger set but they are there mostly for the Bar scene. Can only say check it out once or twice and hope you enjoy.
I, too, have been almost exclusively Ballys for the last 5 years and I do love it there. However, looking for a bit of a change to mix it up and also being disheartened by the Harrahs takeover this year, I started to branch out with 4 trips so far in the lat 3 months to Borgata for 2 hrs. each on my way to Ballys.
I did a comparison of comps and cashback on each based on an hourly play. Ballys used to be much better before the Harrahs takeover. Now Borgata is about 25% better for me.
I am strictly $1 $2 and $5 slots. No VP. But I have friends who swear by Borgata%26#39;s VP as oppossed to Ballys.
I am high Diamond and almost at 7 Stars at Ballys. Took my card to Borgata and they gave me their premium card (Black Label), room comp and $100 comp dollars to start. Their next level up is Titanium which I don%26#39;t know what it takes to get that.
We go to Borgata in the early am so crowds aren%26#39;t an issue. Food choices are great for anything from coffee shop to buffet to fine dining. Their buffet is excellent. And, believe me, I was very addicted to Ballys dining choices although VCB buffet has gone downhill in the last 6 months in my opinion.
What I don%26#39;t like about Borgata is that it is not on the boardwalk which my hubby enjoys walking on while we are there. Me -- I mostly stay inside and play. The other thing is that I have never, ever been approached by a host at Borgata as I have everywhere else. Haven%26#39;t stayed overnight yet, but I hear the rooms are wonderful and we%26#39;re gonna try them soon.
Acmama and Gramms,
You do know don%26#39;t you that you can show your 7 Stars card at the players card desk at Borgota and immediately get a Borgota Black card good for one year? That would give you a way to sample the services you might receive were you to move your business from Harrah%26#39;s properties to the Borgota.
We like the Borgota a lot (except if you go there Saturday night and then you feel like you are 100 years old) but on our most recent stay (mid August this year) we thought that it might have slipped a bit as it didn%26#39;t seem to be quite the experience we found when it first opened. That could also be because some of the other properties we regularly visit have turned up the flame since the Borgota opened and may have narrowed the gap between the old AC properties and the more Vegas like Borgota.

Thank you very much for all of this information . I really was not aware of the card thing or that they had 9/6 poker .
I think I will try the spend a couple of hours there when I go down again
Term
When we were down during summer , we visited the Trop as well . Dom %26amp; I liked the general atmosphere . This will be on my list as well .
Will be looking to go down sometime next month . I intend to make visiting these to places a priority .
Once again ,
Thanks all !
Speaking of the Trop, didn%26#39;t I read a post during the summer about out of control young drinkers at the Trop on a Saturday night?? Thought I remember someone posting stories of drunk kids throwing up in planters.
Well, now that the Quarter%26#39;s open, there are a lot more bars from which to choose.
I noticed that at Red Square, there was a table just inside the front door where patrons could dump their drinks into %26#39;to go%26#39; cups before heading out to the next place. I don%26#39;t know how many other places do that; I know Hooter%26#39;s doesn%26#39;t, based on a sign I saw in there (something like ';no beverages allowed past this point';).
We were at Borgota last Sunday . The Casino is nice . The Bars and clubs are for the under 30 crowd . Much more so in the evening . Self Parking can be a bit confusing because of the two way traffic like at the Trop . Also the entrance to the parking is a bit of a drive and can be confusing the first 4 or 5 times . The cocktail waitresses are all attractive 20 something women . Some speedy , some not . Many of the slot machines are scattered , two of a kind here , 5 of a kind there , etc. People tend to dress up a bit more .
