Trip coming closer!!!

Ok guys and gals, my trip is coming up Oct. 27th. Really don%26#39;t know what to expect.(Vegas guy) I drive from Milwaukee to Chicago, fly ORD to BWI. My buddy is stationed there, He and his wife pick me up at the airport, then we drive to AC. They think I%26#39;m Mr. Vegas, I don%26#39;t want to disappoint them. What I%26#39;d like from all of you is maybe some help planing out Friday night, where to go, where to eat, where to gamble. I know I%26#39;m a NOOB here, but you guys seem friendly.(more than other boards).

Thank you,

Joe

Trip coming closer!!!

Hi Joe,

Where are you staying in AC? What kind of food and activities are you looking for? If you let us know what you normally do and where you normally stay in Vegas it might give us more of an idea where you would be happiest in AC.

One thing about table games in AC is that you are not going to see the $3 and $5 tables like you do in Vegas. $10 is pretty much the minimum, and that can be hard to find sometimes on a Friday night.

Let us know more of what you are looking for and I%26#39;m sure you will get a lot of suggestions.

Oh, have your friends ever been to AC before?

Trip coming closer!!!

Hi,

In Vegas I stay downtown. I like getting as much bang for the buck as I can. We are not staying at a casino hotel.(buddy is USMC, they dont get paid what they should). As far as food, I like good quality, quanitty is not that important, I%26#39;m not looking for a $100 a plate trendy place. Also they are young, 22-23 years old. I just want to show them a good time.

I%26#39;m not sure what you%26#39;re staying close to - and I have to say I am skewed towards Harrahs properties (Ballys, Caesars, Showboat, Harrahs) because that%26#39;s what I am most familiar with (Ballys/Caesars especially). I really can%26#39;t tell you too much about the other properties.

Ballys and Caesars have the best locations. They are center of the AC strip. Taj Mahal and Trump Plaza are a couple blocks away (To either side-) One of my friends really likes Resorts.

Don%26#39;t expect Vegas, it is very different.

For dining options - casual dining at Ballys I like Johny Rockets or the deli close to Johnny Rockets (sorry, can%26#39;t think of name). Trump Plaza has a Chinese food place (on the upscale/expensive side) that was really good. I don%26#39;t have a wealth of knowledge about restaurants in AC because I can get comp%26#39;ed at Harrahs properties....so I usually eat there. Showboat does not have good food choices.

When driving in from Baltimore, take 95 until just after you cross the Delaware Memorial Bridge. Right aftter the bridge take Rt 40 (and watch the road signs, Rt 40 makes a few turns) until you get to the Atlanic City Expressway. That will take you directly to the casinos.

After you cross under the ';Welcome to Atlantic City'; sign that is on a bridge start looking to your right for signs that will direct you to various casinos.

Pickles - that is the deli in Ballys across from Johnny Rockets. Their reubens are really good.

My husband and I just got back from a couple of night in AC. Some places you could eat are Hard Rock Cafe at the Taj or Rainforest Cafe. We also like Carmines at the Tropicana, if you like italian! Ballys has a great martini bar, called Blue Martini. My husband isnt really big on martini%26#39;s but he loved this place. They have a list of over 100 different ones and usually have a band playing. There is a bar at the Taj called EGO, my husband really liked that to watch sports and there drinks were fairly cheap, they have tons of huge T.V%26#39;s If you wanna shop you can go to the outlets or to the new pier at Ceasars or the quarter at Tropicana. As far as gambling everyone has a favorite. I really like Ballys or Ceasars and my husband loves to play poker at Showboat. Whatever you do you are going to have a blast!

You would probably enjoy The Borgata and The Tropicana. There are many places to eat. At the Trop in The Quarter they have so many restaurants to choose from and a few good places to sit and have some drinks. You probably won%26#39;t go wrong with heading to the Quarter to eat, have a few drinks and gamble a bit than head over to The Borgata to check things out there also.

At the Trop Carmines is great for Italian, theres A Dam Good Crabshack, Hooters, Corky%26#39;s , PF Changs, Ri Ra Irish Pub.

I heard really good things about PF Changs and the prices are good also.
