Finally!! Comps from Harrahs, et al!!!!!

I couldn%26#39;t believe my eyes when I got the mail! Finally, after months and months of nothing -- there it was -- free room comps at Harrahs, Showboat, Caesars, and/or Ballys! The offer is for 2 nights at any location during the first half of November, then 2 nights for the last half. Sure, it%26#39;s got the regular blocked out dates, but still -- FOUR nights free! I though these comps were a thing of the past.

It%26#39;s just too bad they%26#39;ve already disappointed me to such an extent that I have plans to go to AC and actually pay for a hotel room in a casino not affiliated with this bunch. Although I probably will not let these freebies go to waste, it%26#39;s not going to entice me to stay in their casino.

Finally!! Comps from Harrahs, et al!!!!!

These offers showed up on the Total Rewards website under ';My Offers'; last week. You should keep checking that as well.

Finally!! Comps from Harrahs, et al!!!!!

Lotsa free offers also from Harrahs. They can Shove them. We will use the ones from Hilton,Resorts,Borgata and the Trumps who have been appreciative of our Money, while Harrahs Snubbed us since the takeover.

Just to show you how Harrah%26#39;s comps have changed since the buyout...

My spouse is a gold card member. He gets ZERO - no room offers at all, no buffets, an occasional $5 cash good on certain days only.

I am 7 Stars. I no longer get HOB tickets, Gospel Brunch tickets, and my free buffets are good only on certain days. I have also noticed that the cashback you earn from playing has dropped - and since you really could never figure out how they calculated this in the first place it%26#39;s impossible to tell by what percentage, etc, it has been reduced.

Now that the summer is over Harrah%26#39;s - like everyone else - will be a bit more generous with their free rooms, but how many loyal customers did they lose by now!

Wow AcMama,

If that%26#39;s the way they treat 7Stars folks, no wonder so many of our Diamond perks have dried up! Forget the poor Gold card holders!! Hell, they don%26#39;t even get to park for free anymore!!!

Let me ask you a question. On a Las Vegas board there was a recent discussion about possible linking of spouses%26#39; Harrahs Players Accounts. It was agreed that Harrahs does not do this but one lady said that although her husband was a Diamond member and she was a gold, she had a Diamond card with her name on it and her account number not her husband%26#39;s. I answered back that I had never heard of this even though we%26#39;d been back and forth to Vegas properties for years and we originally made Platinum at the Rio in Vegas. A man answered that yes indeed, he had one of those cards, He was gold, his wife was Diamond and he had a card and that it worked at the Diamond Clubs and they were each able to bring in a guest for a total of 4 people!

They all thought it was something that might have been particular to the Nevada and Calf Harrahs. Anyone heard of this??? ';Our'; Diamond card is in my wife%26#39;s name and I am but a kept man, so if this is true it would be very interesting. While much of the annual tier score in recent years has come from Vegas, our cards do originate at the AC Harrahs so perhaps this is a deciding factor.

Frank, this linking of cards is news to me. My husband plays on my extra Diamond card so we can run up the points faster, but no one ever offered to link his card with mine. I%26#39;m thinking this might be limited to other Harrah%26#39;s markets such as Vegas. You don%26#39;t use your 7 stars card in the machine - it is strictly for ID purposes only, so they give you Diamond cards to use for playing purposes.

A few months ago I requested 2 free rooms instead of 1 since my niece was coming down to celebrate her 21st birthday. My host was completely unable to do this for me, even using my spouse%26#39;s ';card.'; I wound up having to go through HER boss and it came out OK - but it was obvious to me at the time that they don%26#39;t link cards.

ACMama

ACmama,

No, it%26#39;s not ';linking'; ...we were told a long time ago that they don%26#39;t do that. What they are talking about is just giving the spouse a Diamond Card with their name on it.

We%26#39;re exactly like you guys (well, without the 7 Stars designation) and we play on my wife%26#39;s Diamond Card, but like your husband, I am basically along for the ride.

What this sounds like to me is that the accounts are not ';linked'; but rather that the un-Diamond spouse has a card that shares the spouse%26#39;s Diamond privileges. Points for tier score and reward credits are not shared, just the Diamond privilege.

Well, to me, the mystery continues. I am a gold card member. My October reward gives me a free room basically Sun-thurs. So does my November room offer. I basically have to pay on Fri Sat nites. Those prices range from $139 to $179 depending on the weekend in October and $99 to $169 in November depending on the weekend. It%26#39;s valid at all Harrahs AC casinos.

But I would expect something like this? It%26#39;s off season for AC.

I am a nickel/penny slot player for the most part, but can play up to $1-2 a spin. I%26#39;m curious as to what the room prices are for the rest of you.

Frank, thanks for clearing that up. No one every offered to give my husband a Diamond card to use. On those rare occasions when he has a cash coupon to redeem, he cannot get into the ';Diamond'; line. I may ask my host about this - but it seems to me that they would have offered it if it was available.

Just another day in the mysterious world of casino comping :)

You are so right ACmama,

Some days I think that it%26#39;s a game with the folks at Harrahs. If you know about the ins and outs of the system you get more..if not, oh well! Kind of like how they hide the Diamond Lounges in some of the properties!

If you%26#39;d like to read the thread on the Vegas board here%26#39;s a link:

I agree with Moneywho, Bye Bye Harrah%26#39;s and hello Trop and others to come. There are just way too many places and better places to spend my money than at a casino that doesn%26#39;r care about it%26#39;s customers !!!!!!
